Duck in Subiaco Square

I like art that is beautiful, contemplative, and above all, interesting. I want that in my art.

The parks and gardens of Perth are great locations for studies of wild ducks. These studies on paper have become the basis for my canvas paintings to make gentle social commentary.

The Black Duck in this piece is observing a man with an umbrella to keep off the rain.

I love the subdued colours of the world when it rains.

We live in Subiaco, Perth, and we regularly walk in Subiaco Square which surrounds the underground station.
