Essential Form

A peaceful young girl gently holds a wary cat, while a mustache parakeet rests on her shoulder and a blue Ulysses butterfly flutters among daffodils below. At the top, each plant and animal is accompanied by an origami counterpart which is more abstract, lighter, and freer in form, suggesting an alternative state of being, stripped of weight and complexity. The cat mirrors the girl’s inner world: alert, guarded, and sensitive. Like the surrounding forms, she longs for transformation to simplify her inner landscape and retain only its essential shape. Through this quiet metamorphosis, the work reflects a search for emotional clarity and a state of lightness that leads toward spiritual peace.
