Framework

The remains of this warehouse have intrigued me for years. The experience of capturing the geometry from the outside – at first stuck behind the fence (as done here) – to discovering alternative entries and perspectives, has inspired an experimental photographic project. Navigating between a series of key sites that stretch out from the Fremantle Port, I am exploring layers of memory through contrasting the natural and industrial elements of the coastal landscape. It seemed fitting to begin by framing the foundations of this old building (once a container for storing storage-containers!) before making my way in.
