Grounding

My practice is often about exploring and experimenting. Grounding is a limited palette artwork that explores the much-maligned colour brown. Using only a few colours I wanted to explore a scene and create an artwork that has emotion and warmth. The birds are sharp beaked and alert but the embrace of the circular soft wood canvas, that peeks through, absorbs the pigment and produces warm patterning. Grounding is intended as a comforting artwork, familiar and earthy.
