Scary Bat Boy and His Trusty Scooter

Scary Bat Boy and His Trusty Scooter extends my ongoing practice of transforming discarded materials into imaginative sculptural forms.

Constructed from found objects and hand carved, painted timber, the work reflects my commitment to diverting materials from landfill while foregrounding play as a legitimate artistic strategy.

The scooter echoes a cherished childhood toy, while the Bat Boy figure draws on my early fascination with the 1960s Batman series.

Together, they propose that humour, nostalgia, and environmental responsibility can coexist within contemporary sculpture, inviting viewers to reconnect with their own sense of wonder.
