Structures of Remains stages a theatre of excess dressed as permanence, shaped by contested authority, unstable trust and circulating images. I photograph, source and assemble symbolic forms – skeletal fragments, consumer relics and fading botanicals – within an architectural frame drawn from freely available image archives, acknowledging a condition in which visual culture is encountered less through direct experience than through downloaded representation. Printed on rag paper and collaged onto board, its structure mirrors its imagery: bone and marble resting upon repurposed textile fibres. Drawing on Dutch Vanitas and mid-century design, the work questions how value and legacy are staged.
