Under the Eaves brings together objects that signify both structural support and adornment. Shingle nails cast in silver transform a hidden, utilitarian element into something precious, shifting perceptions of value and function. Chains, echoing architectural garlands, suspend the leaves as though worn by the wall itself.
Through my object-making, I combine structural and wearable languages, making the functional decorative and the intimate structural. I explore material behaviour and expectation, allowing form to hover between hardware and jewellery. I am curious about where structure begins to lean toward ornament, and where ornament might quietly assume the role of support.
