Annunciation In The Branches by Godfrey Blow
Medium: Oil on Belgian linen81
Size: 810 x506 mm (32 x 22 inches)
Godfrey’s current style of art explores a spiritual connectedness with the natural world, be it through drawings and paintings of trees, rocks, ancient sites ie standing stones at Avebury, or a desire to engage with the human form. Often the human figure metamorphoses into plant forms.
In addition he also works on themes and subjects which interest him. Over a number of years he has been entranced with Beauchief Abbey (an old abbey in Sheffield, UK) and the surrounding woodland. This has resulted in many works. One theme that he has been involved with is Sancta Civitas (The Holy City) and a choral work by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
