Conceptual fine art photographer Louise Alexander originally hails from the UK and has been living in Australia since 2019. Her surreal and dramatic images are informed by literature and myth and galvanised by her experience as an actress and theatremaker over the last 16 years. She believes storytelling is universal to the human experience and that stories unite us by cultivating a sense of togetherness and connection. Louise also explores real life issues in her fantastical and melancholic work, such as the climate crisis, feminism and emotional health.

Having exhibited work across Australia and the UK, Louise won the Emergent Designs award at the Mullins Australian Conceptual Photography Prize in 2020 and the Mandjar Art Award in the same year.
