Carla Adams – Paterson’s Curse
|Paterson’s Curse is a devotional homage to Adams’ late gypsy grandmother who arrived in Australia as a ‘Ten Pound Pom.’
This work remembers and attempts to recreate heirlooms that have been lost, broken or stolen. A beautiful yet futile attempt to reconnect to a missed loved one and their culture. The title is in reference to a pretty yet poisonous plant that plagued the farm property in Forrestdale that the artist grew up on and shared with her grandparents.
