Lesley Barrett has been a practising full time artist for the last 20 years here in W.A. working mostly in the areas of sculpture and painting. The use of recycled materials has played a big part in the making of her sculpture, and to some extent in her paintings, as one would realise the use of this type of materials is both time consuming and somewhat fraught with danger ie it does not always work out as one would plan, so adaptability is the key to success. “The next 20 years is going to bring some interesting challenges, and to some degree the widening of the circle in the hunt for materials and inspiration…bring it on.”
