Dean Crozier – Jacaranda
|My work explores our interaction with the world around us. Through the use of abstract form I deconstruct my subjects to create pieces which capture the emotional connection allowing for unique interpretations by the viewer.
Much of my recent work has explored human emotion through a visual representation. The use of colour and shape are fundamental to my work while exploring a connection with the subject.
My recent series, Flowering Trees, which includes Jacaranda, conveys the uplifting emotions at the arrival of spring, when both of these flowering trees signal its presence. Taking these subject out of the traditional depictions into an abstract work allows the emotional connection to the recognizable and familiar colours creating a unique response from the viewer.
