This is part of a body of work that explores different perspectives of a demolished house through oil painting. I find a strange beauty in the damaged and decaying abandoned houses that I visit locally. Housing politics aside, these modern ruins become a mysterious place for reflection. Relying on a limited number of reference images, I push towards abstraction with loose figurative cues relating to architectural space. Through a palette that pairs bright colours with desaturated hues I aim to represent a subtle and distorted memory of a lost domestic place.
