| Gillian’s a multi award winning artist working in numerous fine arts media and categories. Her art has taken her around the world giving her international experiences like being the guest of the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1984/85. She remains the only Australian awarded the Royal Academy’s external studies Certificate in Exhibition, Procedures and Artistic Studies inclusive of the judging of Visual Arts at international level. The Academy no longer conducting external studies.
In 2002 she participated in the prestigious Catherine De Medici painting competition in Florence Italy bringing home the silver medal and people’s choice awards. The City’s mayor purchased the artwork. adding it to the City’s famous collection. Her success is in being in the right place at the right time and being game enough to say “yes” to opportunities. |
