Art makes me happy. It’s a labour of love coupled with a pursuit of high quality, fine detail and technique that allows me to express admiration for natures eye-catching wonders.
Though I have a myriad of subject matter, I am always fascinated by nature and its intricacies. A picnic in Kings Park, Western Australia, resulted in the discovery of this native Eucalyptus flower and its eventual transformation from personal photograph to artwork.
Using layer upon layer of high quality coloured pencils to achieve depth of colour, contour and texture in this beautiful flower. The bright pink red floral colour tinged with tiny yellow buds, coupled with fresh crisp green pods and the rugged dark umber texture of its supporting branches, this was a pleasure to complete.
