Vania Lawson – Shrouded Morning
|I often create layers, then destroy areas as I build the work up, this creates a cyclical process, much like the timeless crash of ocean tides against the shore, and then layers are added whilst creating distinct light and shadows within my current series of artwork.
I feel with this process, it is a reminder to tread softly on this ancient landscape we all call home.
Like the land in which live, layers are the foundations to stability, our values and beliefs, in my artwork some layers fracture, whilst others merge together.
Shadows, corridors & light, this is what inspires my visual poetic journey for my artworks.
